The IC697CMM742 Ethernet interface (type 2) also includes preloaded firmware for simple installation; additionally, firmware is easy to upgrade and maintained indefinitely. This interface provides data exchange via configuration/logic-based Ethernet global data, TCP/IP communication via SRTP, full PLC programming/configuration, and comprehensive station management/diagnostic tools.
The IC697CMM742 Ethernet interface is equipped with four LEDs: MODULE OK, LAN ONLINE, SERIAL ACTIVE, and STATUS OK. If diagnostics are successful, the MODULE OK LED will emit ON. If diagnostics fail, the LED will remain OFF. Blinking during diagnostics is normal and/or indicates special operation conditions.
The LAN ONLINE LED will emit ON when connected to the network and ready. It will emit OFF if there is a disruption or malfunction. Blinking is normal to indicate transferring data. SERIAL ACTIVE will show OFF during inactivity and will blink during data transfer. STATUS OK is ON indicates normal operation. OFF indicates an event that needs the user’s attention, and again, blinking is normal.
The IC697CMM742 is also equipped with a restart button that has four purposes: LED test, restart, restart and enter software load state and restart and enter maintenance state. Please see the IC697CMM742 manual for additional information.
