The IC660BCM501 is a handheld monitor battery charger from the GE Fanuc Genius I/O family

The GE Fanuc IC660BCM501 device is a battery charger which is provided with the GE IC660HHM501 hand-held monitor. The IC660BCM501 battery charger is used to charge the battery pack which is also provided with the hand-held monitor. The IC660BCM501 battery charger can operate at either 115 Volts AC or 230 Volts AC. Before the charger is plugged into AC power source to operate or charge the hand-held monitor, the switch at the base of the IC660BCM501 battery charger must be set to match the incoming voltage level (115 or 230 Volts AC). The hand-held monitor can operate while the charger is connected. The hand-held monitor can operate by drawing power from an internal battery or from an external AC power source. In either case, the battery must always be installed in the unit, otherwise the unit will not operate.

If the internal battery is new or if it has been completely discharged due to operation from battery power, then the battery must be charged for a minimum of 15 minutes before the hand-held monitor can be used. If it is necessary to restore temporary operation before charging is complete, then the charger cable must be plugged into the hand-held monitor and the battery must be charged for 15 minutes before the hand-held monitor is powered up. It may also be necessary to remove the internal battery pack for 15 to 20 seconds and then reinstall it. Operating the hand-held monitor continuously on AC power causes the internal battery to deteriorate. After 2 years of AC operation, the internal battery may not be able to hold enough charge for the independent operation of the hand-held monitor. However, the hand-held monitor can still be used for AC operation.
