About IC693CPU323

The IC693CPU323 is a Series 90-30 component that is manufactured by GE Fanuc. Specifically, this is a baseplate with an

embedded turbo CPU. This is especially designed for small applications as the IC693CPU323 does not support expansion, it also

does not support advanced modules such as the PCM and CCM modules.

The IC693CPU323 has a CPU classified as a turbo CPU with typical scan rate of 0.6 milliseconds per 1K of Boolean logic. It is

loaded with 12Kbytes of user memory, max or 6Kbytes for releases prior to version 7. It supports up to 320 discrete I/O points;

64 Words of Analog input and 32 Words of analog output Words. The IC693CPU323 is provided with 340 units of timer and

counters and supports shift register instructions as well.

The processor used for the IC693CPU323 is a 80188 with clock speed of 10 MHz. It is also provided with serial interface that

supports SNP Slave and SNP-X slave protocols. It also supports installation of Optional communication capabilities include

Ethernet, FIP, Profibus, GBC, GCM, GCM+ option modules.

Aside from being a non-expandable hardware, the IC693CPU323 does not support override function, battery backed clock and

program interrupts. By default, it uses a battery-backed RAM however, the battery is actually hosted by the power supply

module. It may also be installed with optional non-volatile memory such as EPROM and EEPROM.

The IC693CPU323 supports panel mounting, fastened through the mounting holes provided to the baseplate. This unit has a

current load of 430 mA from +5VDC power supply.

The IC693CPU323 baseplate is a GE Fanuc Series 90-30 Ten-slot embedded CPU baseplate. Embedded CPUs offer the benefit of

low costs but they lack the power and versatility of modular CPUs. The embedded CPUs are part of an embedded CPU baseplate

in which the CPU and memory chips are soldered to the backplane board of the baseplate. The embedded CPUs cannot be

changed, they do not support expansion or remote racks, and they do not have time-of-day clocks because the memory back-up

battery is located in the power supply power and unplugging the power supply leads to disconnection of battery from the

memory circuits, which would interfere with settings of a time-of-day clock.

The power requirements of the IC693CPU323 baseplate are 5 Volts DC voltage and 430 milliamps of current. The IC693CPU323

baseplate is not compatible with PCM and CCM devices. The operating temperature range for the module is from 0 to 60 degrees

Celsius. Interrupts, overrides, and battery backed clocks are features which are not available on the IC693CPU323 baseplate.

Shift registers are supported. The number or timers and counters that are available is 340. The single serial port on the

IC693CPU323 baseplate supports only the SNP slave and SNP-X slave communication protocols. Optional modules for the

Profibus, Ethernet, and GCM protocols can be ordered separately if required. A total of 64 words are allocated for the analog

inputs and 32 words are allocated for the analog outputs. The IC693CPU323 baseplate supports a total of 320 combined
